Wow, 20 years, crazy how old that makes us, huh? I married, Wade, in 1990 and we headed to Georgia and lived there for 4+ years. We finally had experienced enough of 'southern hospitality' and moved back to Utah in 1994. We have lived in Weber County since. We live in Plain City (very North/West)of Ogden. We have 4 kids. Alexa (14), Caden (12), Hunter (10), Allyssa (7). They keep us busy and crazy running them to all of their games, friends, school events, etc. I work part-time for IHC and Wade works for the Air Force (civilian). Having not lived in Cache Valley for 18 yrs I don't see many class mates so this is going to be fun to catch up with you.
Hi Amy, I can't believe it has been 33 years since we met each other. I am so excited to see you at the reunion and catch up. See you soon. Kimberly Baldwin Pond
Hi Amy, It was fun to read about your family. I can't believe that it was 33 years ago we became friends!! WOW. I hope to see you at the reunion. Kimberly Baldwin Pond
Do you remember the Jones family who lived for a short time in Glenn and Miriam's white house next to my place when we were about 10 years old? (He was a hippy. She used to sunbathe topless. They had a German Shepard with three legs.) After 30 years, I'm still trying to figure out why they planted a fish in their garden. Any ideas? If you come up with something, let me know.
So I hear things through the grapevine from the Star Valley Hunters (and their scattered parts) about you and your family, but it is nice to be able to read the rest of the story. Great blog.
Now that you mention it, they very well could have been planting more than fish in that garden. And I suspect their dog may have been smoking it - one day he ran (at full speed) head first into the telephone pole in our front yard.
Amy, we missed you at the reunion. You better watch out Janice is going to hunt you down. She kept saying "where is Amy she was suppose to come." It was fun seeing everyone again. Sounds like you are doing well. We need to get together with all the old Wellsvillians. I'm glad you let Tammy know that the Mountains are the Wellsville Mountains not the Mendon.
It was nice to hear from you! Yes, I am still that crazy gal you knew from long, long ago. That is why they have picked me to do girls camp for the past 8 years (I act a lot like the girls!!) But, I love it a whole lot! I guess the Mendonites will have to come over and show you Wellsvillians what is what (if I can get any of the scardy cats to join me)!! I am pretty sure that they are the Mendon Mountains. And, by-the-way, you can tell that so-called cousin of mine that she has been misslead for all of these years and I will expect an apology from her any time...
Hi Amy! Great to hear from you....I wish you could have made it to the reunion. It would be so nice to get everyone together, like you said, "a little Wellsville" reunion! Your blog looks great, you have a darling family. It really would be nice to meet up....life is just too crazy. I should be wrapping up my blog so you will have to stay in touch. Take care. Shantel
Hi, Amy. I was so sad not to see you at the Reunion. But I have read your blog and it is great. I am so sorry to hear about your dad. His birthday party looked like alot of fun. I see Vera often in Wellsville. She lives on Center Street. I haven't seen Denise for about a year. I ran into her at church one day in Wellsville. I haven't heard from Nancy in like a lifetime. I am not sure even where she is at. The last time I heard about Michelle, she was teaching at some college in the midwest. I can't remember the name now. But it would be great to have a get together sometime.
It's Michelle! I was looking on this site -- Amy Goodman sent it to me on Facebook -- and I saw all your comments. I would love to hear from any of you that has a minute. My email is michelle-parkinson@hotmail.com.
I live in Minneapolis and teach at University of Wisconsin - River Falls (which is not far away, just over the border). I have thought of you guys many times in the last 20 (!!!!) years. Do you remember when we all watched Monty Python with John Bailey? And 48 Hours with Eddie Murphy. Good times.
I also have a facebook page, which is a little embarassing at my age -- so if you ever sign up, look up my name. It hasn't changed. xoxo Michelle P.
