After grad school I took a job in Maine with a small Biotech company, and we have been here ever since. Sometimes I think about taking up flyfishing for a living, but Valerie threatens me whenever I mention it. Overall we are happy in Maine. If you have never been this way, you should think about a visit because Maine is awesome!
Wow, I am still wondering where those past 20 years went?!
Just wanted to send well wishes to anyone who reads my post. I would love to attend the reunion and catch up with many long, lost friends. But, it ain't (Wellsville still courses through my veins) going to happen this time. Maine is just a little too far, and cub scouting, boy scouting and soccer events are stacked a little too deep right now. Hopefully many of you will show up and enjoy, and hopefully I will be available for the 25th.
John, Good to see you are doing well. It looks like Maine is treating you well. I hope to be at the reunion. I haven't made it to any of the others. I live in Spanish Fork with my wife and six children (www.kellyjeanice.blogspot.com) Exito con todo!
so, I gotta wonder...was I part of some 'dead pool' or something? Like my chances of remaining above ground were in doubt? Sheesh!
ANYWAY--good to hear things are well up in the northeast. I had heard rumors about you getting your PHD when I was living in 'Walesvale' while attending USU. Kinda blows my mind to see all our MD's, PHD's and the like. Jeez, we were just a bunch of hick goobers playin football and bird-doggin girls.
Wish you and the rest of the Bradshaw family could make it to the reunion, but if we have to wait a few more years to catch up, I guess that'll have to work.
Take care, and drop me an e-mail every now and then. Oh, and just FYI--it's partly cloudy and 95 here in Vegas. I SO don't miss SNOW!!!!
Hi John, It is nice to hear how you are doing! I had no idea what you were up to, but then I still live around here and hardly see anybody at all!! I see Justin Jensen at Church sometimes or driving around in his truck acting like he is working!! I am glad you are doing well. I see your sister Janet a little bit. Wish you could come to the reunion, but maybe the 25th. Take care.
Hey John, It's good to hear that all is well in Maine. I try to get updates when I see your Mom or Linda. I live just 'down the street' from Hooper now. I didn't realize that is where Valerie is from. Seems like forever since those lazy, care-free days in Wellsville, huh? Take care! Amy Hunter-Holmes
It is so fun reading all of these blogs. I am so proud of you. You were always so smart that is why I cheated off of your papers remember?? You helped me get through some very difficult classes and now look at me I am a college professor. Isn't amazing the paths we take in life. Thanks for the update. Kelli Moon Barker
John, apparently I'm just down the road from you in New Hampshire. It's good to hear that there are more of us out here in the East. I just found out that Ben Schulz is in Mass., about 50 miles from me. Where are you in Maine? I'm in Milford, NH. Hope things are well with you and your family. Kevin Olsen
Hey Birdshaw! Dagwood always tells me that you have been here after you have already left. Next time you are in town we will all have to go to lunch and hang out for a while. I don't know if I will ever figure out the girl thing, I grew up with 5 brothers. No, just kidding, I wouldn't trade them in for anything. Wish you could be here. We will keep a burger on the grill for you anyway! Take care!
Nice to hear from you. I really enjoyed Maine and have seriously considered heading back. I had a job offer right out of law school in North Conway, NH but ultimately decided against it. Someday I'll get back there and relearn the accent. If you make it to Monmouth, say hello to Llewellyn and Edith Rose. We lived with them for a few months while we tracted out the entire area. He also gave me the worst haircut I've ever had (with the possible exception of my current do.) I also lived above a bearded woman in Kezar Falls. Could you check on her for me and see if she is still there?
Hey John Thomas, Long time no see or hear or pretty much anything eh? Ever since mom and dad moved to logan I don't get much news outta Wellsville, hell is the "gay ladies club" (LEO) still functioning? Guess I should ask mom about that. Being "Pappa Flint" is pretty cool actually. Only in Utah do you have a three year old grandaughter and a 2 year old son. Flint
I actually see Janet all the time because I teach the NFS course that she oversees. She is great! She actually brags about you quite a bit and keeps me posted on what you're up to. We loved our time in the Northeast, but had to move back to Cache Valley to warm up!
John- Hey it was fun to hear from you! Sound like you have done great with your life! So glad to hear that! You were always a fun friend! Never been to Maine but if we ever get up that way I'll look you and your family up! My hubby would also love the flyfishing profession as well haha! Take care! :) Jodie Nyman Hunt
I loved hearing from you. I would love to go back to Chile. I actually just went in Feb. for the first time in 20 years. It was awsome! It made me more excited to go back again. If you are game I would seriously go back if you are interested. A friend and I have been talking about going in our summer (their winter) and go skiing. Anyway, I am excited to talk this weekend. See you then.
John, What happened to the little Wellsville boy that had the pet "Jim" crow? You're all grown up with a family and living in Maine. You can't be that old because I'm sure I'm not. It is good to hear that you are doing so well. I wish I could see you at the reunion but there is always the 25.
Hello Mr. Bradshaw, I'm pretty sure it was you that got us both in trouble in 2nd grade. I remember sitting in the front of the class more than once because of you. The jail thing, there was alcohol involved need I say more. I'm just kidding. I am an angel and would never do anything to get myself in trouble, and you moved to far away to get me in trouble. I am living in Wellsville. We bought the Stevensons house on the other end of town. I have a daughter that is a sophomore, that scares me to think I am that old. Trevor is in 8th grade, Wyatt red head is in 3rd grade and Madison is in 1st grade. I work a seasonal job at Herff Jones (yearbooks) and have my summers off to be the taxi driver. My husband is a machinist out at Thiokol. All is well with us hear in beautiful Wellsville. Next time you are heading this way give me a call and we will have to round up some of the old Wellsvillians and have a party. I'm always up for a party. It was good to hear from you. Send me your email and I will try to get you a picture from the reunion of the old Wellsville Elementary group. Love ya tons.
Hey Bradshaw, How the corn are you? We sure missed you at the reunion. It was fun to reminisce about the old days. It was also fun to watch the team dominate Bountiful in the game, what little I saw of the game. I got so caught up talking with people that I didn’t get to see anything but the 4th quarter. Do you remember how chaotic Homecoming was? I can’t remember a lot about that because we were doing so much but I won’t forget how much fun it was to be in WAMA with the rest of you guys. That was a highlight from high school. Thinking back on those days, it is so much better to be well respected than well known, loved rather than being “popular” and you must have been ahead of the curve on that. I always loved the way that you were genuine and kind and good to everyone that you were around. You were one of the people I loved being around because you were so good. Thank you, Bradshaw. We had such a great class, and you made it that much better. I actually spent 3 years of my childhood to the south west of you in Nashua, New Hampshire. In fact, I have 2 sisters that live back there now and a brother in law at MIT and they all love it back there. How are the lighthouses out your way? My wife and I visited a couple of years ago and went to the southern most lighthouse to get a picture of a famous Maine lighthouse. We had dinner at this restaurant with mediocre fare but the view was absolutely killer. I miss New England. I grew up a Patriots, Celtics, Red Sox fan and for most of my life the Celtics were the only ones keeping my dreams alive but not lately. Sorry this is an essay but I just had a lot to say to my good friend “Birdshaw.” David Smith
Hi John! Long time....it would have been so great to see you at the reunion. I am not sure you even remember me but you stand out as one of the nicest through school years! It sounds like life is treating you well. Hopefully you can make to the 25 year! Take care. Shantel

John,
WOW! you are such a success! I'm so happy for you.
If you find out how to make a living fly fishing let Lance know.
Love, Kris
