In 1992, I graduated from USU in illustration and graphic design and married Farrell Edwards. We live in Kaysville, Utah and have four children: Spencer (14), Melissa (12), Dallen (10) and Sarah Jane (5).

Farrell works for EA Salt Lake and I get to stay home with our kids... which I really enjoy.

Favorite things: family vacations (especially Lake Powell), hiking, doing art projects with my kids, decorating, laughing, pretending to grow a garden, skiing as a family, going to the kids or Farrell's soccer games, and I still love to draw portraits (though it doesn't make it very high on my priority list).

I could tell you I'm really busy, but who isn't? Life is great, even if it is flying by too fast.

I still have a little wooden heart you painted for everyone in our class in 6th (??) grade.

You were always so incredibly talented!

Laurel Edwards,
What a great soul you are! I just love to think about our little ward and the fun we had as all of us boys in the ward would bug and annoy to get all of your attentions. We were so dumb it's simply comical to look back on.
Laurel, one thing you always had from me was my respect. I always knew where you stood and I had a lot of respect for you because of it. I loved your parents and give them a lot of credit for the way that they raised you. Do you remember when Mrs. White stopped me from bugging you in Humanities? She said, "it seems as though David needs a little extra attention. Will everyone please give David 20 seconds of your attention." Do you remember that? I will never forget it! That wasn't the attention I really wanted. Please tell Farrell hi for me. We didn't spend a lot of time in the same circles in high school but from the time I played soccer against him as a kid to the way I was dazzled by his abilities to learn so many instruments I have admired Farrell. Of course I was too much of a blockhead to tell him then and start a friendship that would have blessed my life. I missed a bunch of those opportunities but I certainly learned later. I can still remember serving with Matt Degn and having him tell me, "you were a jerk in High School to most people." Isn't it great that a missionary companion can tell you that and you just take it? It sounds like all is well in Kaysville. I hope to see you at the reunion.

Amy, It was the 6th grade but my mom painted the hearts. How fortunate for me that you have spent all these years thinking about how talented I am. :)

I read about your many adventures the past 20 years... how fun!

David, I am sorry to say that I don't remember the "attention" incident. How unfortunate because I probably felt pretty smug. :)

How lucky for all these kids to have you for a seminary teacher. I bet you're a favorite.

I have the best picture of you from our wedding. I'm throwing the bouquet and all these girls are gathered to catch it and there you are, reaching with all your might and a big grin on your face. I'm glad to see that the marriage thing still worked out for you, even though you missed the catch.

btw, wouldn't it be fun to have a Prov 3rd ward reunion?

Hello Laurel Simmons,

I am glad to read about you and Farrell. I remember you being one of the nicest people I knew in High School. Thanks for being nice to me when so many other people were mean! Well OK, no one was really mean, but it is true that you were one of the nicest people I can remember. I imagine you are still super nice, but it is OK if your kids think that you are a super-mean-Mom at times. :)

Laurel,

It was great to see you at the reunion (even though I did not get to say hello). I had forgotten that you married your little high school sweetheart, Farrell!! How cute you guys are! I hope you have another great 20 years!
